From your first phone call to Adoption Support Center, you should feel our difference. But there is more to our agency than just optimism! Our services make the possibility of adoption available to every interested couple.
We offer three plans: Plan 1 - Caucasian (and Caucasian blend) infants, Plan 2 - international adoptions, and Plan 3 - full or biracial African American adoptions. We also provide interstate sponsorships, and à la carte home studies for domestic and international adoptions. We invite you to attend one of our Wednesday Information Seminars to discover which adoption plan or service suits you best!
Plan 1: The Adoption Support Center Domestic Adoption Plan
Caucasian and Caucasian blends
A resource for the couple that wants the comfort, support and insulation of an agency adoption.
  • Your birth mother finds you via newspaper ads, yellow page ads, outreach programs, internet, referrals, marketing, networking, and as a Featured Family on our web site.
  • You do not need your own 800 line. The first phone calls are too difficult for everyone, so we answer all calls generated from your activity 24 hrs per day, 365 days per year.
  • Most adoptive couples and birth moms are from Indiana.
  • The average placement time for child-free couples under the age of 40 (one or both of you) for an infant is 8-10 months.
  • We primarily place usually healthy, infants directly from the hospital. Seldom is foster care needed, and seldom do we have toddlers or sibling groups.
  • This plan is well suited for couples from 25-40 years of age, with or without adopted children, who are open to Caucasian and Caucasian blend placements. Adoptive couples, in which one or both of you are older than 40, may take an average of 18 months for a successful placement.
  • Your birth mother is offered 24-hour adoption coordination and support before, during, and after placement.
  • You will probably meet your birth mom during her pregnancy, initially in a non-identifying way. Depending upon her desires, you may be asked to share pictures and letters, emails, texts, etc. with her after placement. We are available as a liaison, if needed. Most birth mothers want visits before and after placements, some want open adoption, some want closed. You will be shown only to birth mothers who desire the same level of communication.
  • Birth mother living and medical expenses are arranged through the agency.
  • Home studies take approximately 6-8 weeks from the home visit, and are affordable and non-judgmental.
Plan 2: International Adoption
A resource for the couple who might be afraid of having a birth mother and birth father experience, can embrace a child 12 months or older, and doesn't mind traveling to a foreign country for their adoption experience.
  • Adoptions can be as fast as 10-12 months (depending upon country).
  • Babies are as young as 10-12 months old (depending upon country).
  • It's always changing, but some of the countries possible include: China, Russia, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Nepal, Taiwan, Honduras, Nicaragua, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ukraine, Mexico and Haiti.
  • International adoption placements surprisingly cost about the same as domestic adoption
  • Little, if any, drug and alcohol use (depending upon country).
  • Most countries allow you to have a gender preference.
  • Easiest way to adopt two children at once - either siblings or two unrelated children at least one year apart (depending on the international adoption agency).
  • Parents can be as young as 25 years old and as old as 55 years old (depending upon the country), with or without children.
  • Less emotional risk. Children are typically orphans, so there are no birth mother meetings or correspondence.
  • International home studies are quick (approx 6-8 weeks from the home visit), affordable, and non-judgmental.
Plan 3: The Adoption Support Center Domestic Adoption Plan
Full & Biracial African American
  • Your birth mother finds you via newspaper ads, yellow page ads, outreach programs, internet, referrals, marketing, networking, and as a Featured Family on our web site.
  • You do not need your own 800 line. The first phone calls are too difficult for everyone, so we answer all calls generated from your activity 24 hrs per day, 365 days per year.
  • Most adoptive couples and birth moms are from Indiana.
  • The average placement time for singles and couples is 0-9 months.
  • We primarily place usually healthy, infants directly from the hospital. Seldom is foster care needed, and occasionally we have toddlers or sibling groups.
  • This plan is well suited for couples and singles of all ages, with or without children, who are open to full and biracial African American blend placements.
  • Your birth mother is offered 24-hour adoption coordination and support before, during, and after placement.
  • This plan is well suited for single women and couples from age 25 and up, with or without children.
  • Home studies are take approx 6-8 weeks from the home visit, and are affordable and non-judgmental.
À la Carte Home Studies - If you already have a pending private adoption or international adoption agency and country identified, you may desire an à la carte home study. We are accustomed to providing quick (approx 6 weeks from the home visit) and affordable home studies that meet your adoption resource's requirements. We can provide a "rush" home study for an additional $500 fee. An Information Seminar is not necessary in this case.
Out-of-State Couples - You must know a former domestic adoptive couple (or BE a former ASC couple) to work with Adoption Support Center from outside Indiana. You must procure a home study in your own state of residence and have the original sent to us before we can work with you. The program is the same, but your adoption will be slightly more expensive due to travel, possible interstate fees, and additional finalization expenses in your state of residence.
Re-Applying Couples - If you are re-applying with ASC, (and 80% of our couples do!) welcome back!
Peer Support for Adoptive Parents - We are the only agency to provide peer support for our adoptive couples (and birth moms). Check out the Miracles Support Group website to speak to our past adoptive families, read their stories, sign up for support and play groups, and find important links. When you activate with us, you are matched with your own peer family for support in addition to our agency.
Federal Tax Credit - Did you know that if your family's combined gross annual income is less than $174,730/year, you can earn a $13,170 (2011 tax figures) federal tax credit? Check our Financing page for details.
Adoption Loan Program - We will provide you with a long list of grant programs and interest-free loan providers.
Where do you start? Just download and complete our Adoption Intake Form (PDF) and mail or fax it to our office. We will review it, give you our recommendations and advice on how to continue, and advise you on which adoption plan suits you best. If you prefer an international adoption and already know the foreign agency and country you prefer, you will not need to attend our Wednesday seminar. We can simply start your home study. If you prefer our domestic adoption plans, we will contact you with Information Seminar dates that are available upon receipt of the Intake Sheet. The seminar lasts about three hours on a Wednesday morning. We want you to find the right resource for your religion, sense of openness, timing, heritage, and pocketbook. We encourage both of you to attend (please, no children.)
We know there are many, many questions you need to ask. Hopefully, our Frequently Asked Questions page addresses many of them. It is important that you feel a sense of trust and comfort with an adoption agency. You may never have such an important relationship with a resource again. Already, we hope you feel that our service, paperwork, and enthusiasm are superior to other resources you have contacted. We want you to see adoption as the exciting adventure that it is. We want to fill you with optimism! Send us your Adoption Intake Form (PDF) and start your journey.
You could be parents in less than a year!
Best wishes,
