Options for Adoption

From your first phone call to Adoption Support Center, you should feel our difference. But there is more to our agency than just optimism! Our services make the possibility of adoption available to every interested family.

We offer three plans:

√ Program 1 – Caucasian (and Caucasian blend) infants
√ Program 2 – Full or biracial African American adoptions
√ Program 3 – Your Personal Match Plan

We invite you to attend an Informational Seminar to discover which adoption plan or service suits you best!

Program 1: Children who are Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian, Native American and Blends of Those Races

An option for the family that wants the comfort, support and insulation of an agency adoption.

  • We find your birth mother via newspaper ads, yellow page ads, outreach programs, internet, referrals, marketing, networking and as a Featured Family on our website.
  • You do not need your own 800 line. We answer the calls generated from your activity 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Most adoptive families and birth moms are from Indiana.
  • The average placement time for an infant is 9-10 months — our goal is a one-year placement.
  • Children placed are usually healthy, Caucasian (and sometimes Hispanic) newborns placed from the hospital. Seldom is foster care needed.
  • This plan is well suited for families from 25-40 years of age. Individuals over 40 may take a little longer.
  • Your birth mother is offered adoption coordination and support — before, during and after placement.
  • You will probably meet your birth mom during her pregnancy in a non-identifying way. Using our agency as the liaison, most birth moms request ongoing communication in the form of letters, pictures, and texts. Many of our birth moms request visits throughout the years.
  • Birth mother living expenses are arranged through the agency.
  • Costs range from about $17,000-29,000 after the Federal Adoption Tax Credit of $13,570.
  • Home studies are affordable, quick and non-judgmental.

Program 2: Full and Biracial African American Children

An option for the family that wants the comfort, support and insulation of an agency adoption.

  • We find your birth mother via newspaper ads, yellow page ads, outreach programs, internet, referrals, marketing, networking and as a Featured Family on our website.
  • You do not need your own 800 line. We answer the calls generated from your activity 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Most adoptive families and birth moms are from Indiana.
  • The average placement time for an infant is 3-9 months — our goal is a nine-month placement.
  • Children placed are usually healthy, African-American and African-American biracial newborns placed from the hospital. Seldom is foster care needed.
  • This plan is well suited for families, as well as single women, from 25 years and up, with or without children.
  • Your birth mother is offered adoption coordination and support before, during and after placement.
  • Costs range from about $15,400-25,400 after the Federal Adoption Tax Credit of $13,570.
  • Home studies are affordable, quick and non-judgmental.

Program 3: The Personal Match Plan

An option for the family who wants to market themselves and bring their own birth mother to ASC for an adoption. This still gives you the comfort, insulation and support of an agency adoption.

  • You market yourselves through social media, family & friends, church, etc. to find your own birth mother. (You do not appear on our web site, nor receive referrals from the agency.)
  • A birth mother’s first call starts with you, the adoptive family. Then the agency is asked to get in touch with the birth mother so we can provide all our agency services to you and your birth mother.
  • Birth mothers are not restricted to Indiana. They can be from anywhere in the US.
  • This plan has no limitations and is well-suited for all families.
  • Your birth mother is offered adoption coordination and support — before, during and after placement.
  • With our help, you will have a well-developed relationship plan. You and your birth mother will determine if you want to share pictures and letters with her after placement. You can use our agency as the liaison.
  • Birth mother living expenses are arranged through the agency.
  • Costs range from about $3,400 to $14,000 after the Federal Adoption Tax Credit of $13,570.
  • Home studies are affordable, quick and non-judgmental.

Out-of-State Couples – If you live outside the state of Indiana, you need to know a former ASC couple as a referral. You will need to procure a home study in your state of residence.

Re-Applying Couples – If you are re-applying with ASC (and, 85% of our families do), welcome back!

Financing – The Federal Adoption Tax Credit has been signed and made permanent as of 2013. The amount is now $13,570 for families with a combined gross income of up to $203,540. Between $203,540 and $243,540 it slowly depletes itself until those who reach $243,540 no longer qualify. In addition, beginning in 2015, Indiana has implemented a State Adoption Tax Credit of $1000.
